Before
us we have a selection of the most popular used weight gain supplements, that you have all tried and used and you wish to share with
us your views and opinions.
Weight gainers, how useful
for the athlete?
|
| Answer |
Anthony
- You need them. When you're as tall as me, or as big as some of these
guys, you couldn't eat the solid food, let alone cook it, enough to
maintain your weight, let alone gain weight.
Jason - Well, when
more than 50% of my diet is weight gainers I'd have to agree with Anthony.
Its better quality, cheaper and far more convenient than solid food. Its
not that they're useful. Weight gainers are the only way for half the
population to actually put on the weight they want.
Jimmy - Being a
naturally skinny trainer as well, it becomes increasingly difficult trying
to gain weight, with a fast metabolism. I dont think you can even eat
enough food, solid food, unless it was a liquid weight gainer, so yeah
they're essential for the ectomorphs or fast metabolisms like me!

| Question |
So
tell me about the results that you experienced from the weight gainer you
tried this month.
|
| Answer |
Anthony
- I gave the Instant Mass a try. Its a lower calorie, high protein
weight gainer. Very good. I used a lot of it each day though. It helped me
put on three pounds this month and no fat gain. That's pretty good I think
compared to most results.
Jason - Yeah that's
not bad. I put on four pounds. My choice was the Chemical Pro-Mass. I was
having three shakes a day and a forth one on training days. No fat gain
either. Which is pretty good for me, cos my normal diet isn't the best!
Jimmy - I was trying
the slightly higher calorie mammoth! And I gained seven pounds. Id just
come off a basic maintenance diet though to be honest. I think I might
have gained a little fat, but that doesn't bother me cos I can diet that
off, and I obviously maxed out the most muscle I could gain here.

| Question |
So, how well did the
products mix?
|
| Answer |
Anthony
- Very easily. Much like most products from Reflex. I think because
this one was more protein and less carbs it mixed easier than ever. Quite
a thin shake in comparison to some, it didn't sit in your stomach for long
but it did fill you up.
Jimmy - The mammoth
was very thick indeed. It really filled you up like a proper heavy meal. I
like to feel like that, like my weight gainer has some substance to it
though. Perfect for me. You do need to mix it thoroughly though unless you
don't mind the lumps. I used a blender.
Jason - The Pro Mass
was higher in carbs but I guess it mixed very easy compared to the
mammoth. I bet if you just added water in one of them shaker cups its
would be mixed ideally to drink. It was a little heavier on the stomach. I
mean it digested well and everything but you could tell you had just had
some substantial nutrition that meal.

| Question |
What
do you think of the taste and texture?
|
| Answer |
Jason
- Taste was great. Smelt great as you were making it and the taste was
light, frothy and flavoursome.
Jimmy - Really rich
and full of bang!
Anthony - A little
subtle, not too strong. I liked it.
|
| Question |
And
the quality of the ingredients - what do you think?
|
| Answer |
Jimmy
- I think we all agreed that they were probably some of the best on
the market. All the highest quality ingredients.
|
| Question |
And
finally, is there anything specific that you would combine your weight
gain shake with on a diet in order to gain more muscle quicker guys?
|
| Answer |
Anthony
- Yes, I think I'd have to add a creatine product to the mix. Staying
with Reflex Id add any of their Tri-Creatine products.
Jimmy - Creatine or
a pro hormone. That's the best bet. Something like Mag 10
Jason - Hmmmm, Id
have to say a tribulus product like the Tri-Anabol that is gonna help you
absorb and utilise more of the protein for muscle building.
