Below we asked three
trainers their views and opinions from the following
supplements Reflex Advantage, Garnells Enrage and Maxi Muscle Viper. These people have been training and using sport
supplements for over two years.
| Question |
Before
us we have a selection of the most popular used carbohydrate and
energy supplements, that you have all tried and used and you wish to share with
us your views and opinions. OK,
energy products, so we're talking here about high volume workouts,
endurance and cardio I believe. Tell me about the products that you were
using and were they of benefit to you?
|
| Answer |
Tony
- Well I just started to increase my cardio training and wanted
something to boost my performance higher than before - so I tried out the
Advantage by Reflex and it was very useful. It has been designed for
endurance athletes. I noticed a massive improvement to be honest.
Sarah - I was
increasing volume in my periodisation routine. I tried the Enrage.
Interesting. Im convinced it was important in improving my training this
month because I made no other changes to my program. So yeah I think it
was very beneficial. Its like a creatine, mental stimulant carb mix.
Julie - For cardio
Viper. Ive used it before. It works. Designed for endurance athletes -
full of carbs, rehydration salts (minerals) and amino acids to bolster
recovery from training.

| Question |
What
results did you personally achieve from using these products?
|
| Answer |
Julie
- Each time I use it when Im performing cardio I feel more energetic
at that workout and the next. I ache less and I reccover much faster
between workouts, so I can sneak more workouts in - which when you're
aiming to lose fat is great. I find it retains more muscle tissue on my
body too, because sometimes when I do lots of CV without Viper I seem to
lose some strength and muscle.
Sarah - I wasn't
doing CV, just high volume weights workouts. I found I was mentally more
alert and psyched up for training. This boosted my physical energy. I
think the creatine was a massive boost for energy, especially since I
don't use that much. I also recovered faster between my workouts.
Tony - This is one
thats a bit like the enrage. It mixes mental and physical stimulants and
you can really feel them when they are active. I mean you think clearer
and concentrate better and you have more focussed energy. Maybe not more
energy - but you can focus all your energy better...well I suppose you do
have more energy because I was out performing myself on speed and
distance.

| Question |
Any
side effects?
|
| Answer |
Sarah
- First few times I used Enrage I felt a bit shakey after my workout
but I think thats because the stimulants in it made me work much much
harder than normal.
Tony - Only good
ones.
Julie - No. No side
effects.

| Question |
How
well did the products mix and taste?
|
| Answer |
Julie
- Mixes easily in water. You don't need a blender. I didn't pay much
attention to the taste...it was pleasant. If it were unpleasant I would
have remembered.
Tony - Yeah,
powdery, mixed absolutely fine in water - dont even need a blender. Tasted
fine, sweet.
Sarah - Sweet and
Firey. I liked it. Nice. Mixed fine in water as well, very easily.

| Question |
So,
overall very positive results. Can you think of anything else that you
would have liked to use these products with to improve your results?
|
| Answer |
Tony
- Id say creatine but this already has that in. Maybe Ribose or
another energy product like that. It would probably be mind blowing with
some stimulant fat burners like Tight from SAN.
Julie - Id say the
same. A good potency stimulant fat burner. I like good old Therma Pro by
Prolab.
Sarah - All in all
an excellent mix of ingredients. Mental and physical stimulants and
carbohydrates. Id probably, if I wanted to increase energy further, if it
was needed, have an Energy Tech with it by Muscle Tech and I'd use a nitro
product like Nitro 3. They seem to boost my energy levels and are great to
use if you want a physical boost while weight training.
