Below we asked three
trainers their views and opinions from the following
supplements CNP's Pro Napalm, Muscle Tech's Energy Tech and Ultra Fuel by
Twinlab. These people have been training and using sport
supplements for over two years.
| Question |
Before
us we have a selection of the most popular used drink
supplements, that you have all tried and used and you wish to share with
us your views and opinions. Drinks,
ladies and gentlemen, where they useful to you on your training and
nutritional regimes?
|
| Answer |
Julie
- Totally. Im on a low carb diet at the moment and I was feeling tired
and drained. I used the low carb Energy Tech by Muscle Tech. I feel off my
face with energy. They're great. Ill keep using them.
Mike - I love CNP's
products but I hadn't used the Napalm before. I have to admit I noticed a
difference with each workout. Im quite big so I was having two or three of
them at a go. Think Id save the kick for the really tough workouts though
because it really did help.
Jason - Ive been
upping my endurance, volume and a little CV so I used the Twinlab Ultra
Fuel. Easy and convenient for me, cos Im lazy and can't be bothered mixing
up a carb drink from powder, that's not what bodybuilders normally do -
these bottled versions are just whats needed.

| Question |
Great,
so what did they do for you? What results did you expect and what results
did you get?
|
| Answer |
Jason
- I thought I wanted a fast method to replace my blood sugar when I
was wavering and fill my muscle and liver glycogen up to enhance my
recovery from my workouts and hopefully not feel so sore for the next few
days. It worked. I think the Ultra Fuel spikes your insulin a bit too so
you can absorb protein better after you've drank a bottle or two.
Mike - I wanted
something as powerful as ephedrine but legal. Napalm did a great job. I
felt powerful and stimulated. I noticed my strength go up every workout I
used this product.
Julie - Well I
wanted something to boost my energy levels. I think I got something a
little more than that. I noticed I was recovering faster, ached less, and
had not just enough energy for my workout but for the rest of the day in
general, whereas before I was getting lethargic around midday. Im really
impressed.

| Question |
That's
good. How did they taste?
|
| Answer |
Julie
- Really nice. Come in a can and were very pleasant.
Mike - A strange
taste and a strange colour. Not unpleasant but I cant describe it. It was
very glucose like...maybe like lucozade original - no-one could ever
properly describe the taste to that. But not chemically in any way at all.
Nice. Pleasant.
Jason - Fruity. Just
like a fruit drink, like Oasis or something. I like them.

| Question |
Do
you think these type of products play a part in an athletes diet?
|
| Answer |
Mike
- One hundred percent. People want fast convenient things to enhance
their training. Thats what Napalm delivered. I think its important in
anyones diet let alone an athlete. I mean what good does Coca-Cola or
Ribena do for you. At least this drink has a purpose that has been thought
about rather than just the taste of it!
Jason - Yeah of
course. Otherwise Id have to drink a bottle of water and stuff down three
bananas and a few spoons of sugar for my carbs and I want something quick
and easy digested. Ultra Fuel is a drink designed for athletes, not for
Joe Public.
Julie - Damn right!
Most athletes at some time or another find their energy and recovery
suffering. Whether it be because of intense dieting or because of hard
training. These are a god send drink, like Jason said - designed for
athletes - not the average bloke on the street.
