What is Phaseolamin?
The active ingredient from White Kidney Bean is in fact Phaseolamin (also referred to as Phase 2). This is the very first ingredient that has been scientifically proven in research to actually neutralize the starch that is found in such carbohydrate rich foods as potatoes, breads, pasta, rice, corn and crackers.

What Are The Benefits of Phaseolamin?
The primary benefit of Phaseolamin is that it reduces the absorption of calories taken in from the starchy carbohydrates, ideal for dieters and those wanting to lose weight without depriving themselves of carbohydrate too dramatically.
Combined with a sensible diet, Phaseolamin will reduce hunger and accelerate weight loss by between one-half and one pound per week. In other words, if you were to use Phaseolamin for two months, you'll lose 4-8 pounds more than you would with diet alone.

More About Phaseolamin
Essentially when you eat a carbohydrate rich food such as potatoe, rice, bread etc, your body converts the starch, through digestive processes into sugar (or glucose). This happens by the process of a digestive enyme secreted by the pancreas named alpha amylase. The sugar (glucose) then enters into your blood stream where by it either has to be used up and burnt off through energy usage immediately or stored. Primary storage places for glycogen are of course the liver, your muscle tissue, and of course your body's favourite storage system - the fat cells!

Now the effect of Phaseolamin is to actually deactivate and neutralize the alpha-amylase enzyme before it can convert starchy carbohydrate into glucose. Subsequently the glucose will not then convert and store as fat. And instead it allows the carbohydrate to pass safely and naturally straight through your system.

University of Scranton researcher, Professor Joe A. Vinson, reports that Phase 2® (Phaseolamin) reduces starch absorption by 28% when the ingredient is mixed with a full meal and served to participants. The study involved seven participants who consumed a microwaved meal with water. The meal contained 630 calories with 64 grams of carbohydrates, 29 grams of protein, and 29 grams of fat in the form of breaded sirloin beef patties, mashed potatoes with gravy, mushrooms, green beans, and cherry-apple crumb cake. The control group received only the meal, while the other group received the meal with Phase 2® mixed in with the mashed potatoes.

Phaseolamin has also been shown in the International Medical Research Journal in one study in particular, that this ingredient speeds up weight loss over a 12 week period. There were 40 volunteers in this particular research study. Body weight, body composition and blood pressure were recorded at baseline and every month during the study. In the group that were using Phaseolamin there was a dramatic and measurable differene in the total amount of weight loss in comparison to the control group - a total loos of 8 lbs as opposed to just 3 lbs (thats over 100% greater weight loss). Research by Jay Udani, M.D., the Medical Director at Northridge Hospital Medical Center, Los Angeles also shows that people using Phaseolamin lost nearly a half pound per week more than those on using a placebo supplement.

This particular ingredient is proving very popular over in the states, with it being a great focus point and topic of discussion. With Phaseolamin already the subject of a new book called The Starch Blocker Diet, written by one of the premier doctors of integrative medicine in the USA, Steven Rosenblatt, M.D., Ph.D.

Usage Indications
Phaseolamin is suitable for anyone wanting to lose weight faster without the use of stimulants, excessive exercise or restrictive low-carbohydrate, high-protein diets.

Best results of this ingredient show that around a 200mg dose is best used at and around the meal time. There seems to be quite an effective response when the ingredient is used prior to eating the meal, with an almost equal result being experienced if taking the ingredient during the carbihydrate rich meal (especially if the capsule is opened and the powdered Phaseolamin sprinkled onto the food). With effects still working but quickly diminishing in potency if the supplement is taken after your carbohydrate rich meal.

What Can I Use Phaseolamin With For Enhanced Results?
Phaseolamin has been shown to be effective in reducing calories storing as fat when they are sourced from a starchy carbohydrate derivative. If you wanted to increase fat loss even further, although Phaseolamin is of no use at blocking fat based calories, you can of course stack it with Chitosan, a type of shell fish fibre, which neutralizes fat before it is digested and stops you from storing that as fat. This combination would be highly effective.
