WHAT IS L-TYROSINE?
Tyrosine is a non essential amino acid found in meat, dairy and eggs as well
as in almonds and bananas.
HOW DOES TYROSINE WORK?
Tyrosine enters the brain and interacts with Vitamins B3, B6, C, Folic Acid
and the minerals, Iron, Copper, and Zinc to transform it into two 'alertness'
chemicals called norepinephrine and dopamine. Norepineprhine stimulates the
release of stored body fat and helps control the release of endocrine hormones,
which regulate your metabolism and appetite. Dopamine can positively effect the
muscle movement and tissue repair in addition to influencing the immune system
and sex drive in a positive way. Tyrosine also stimulates the pituaitary to
release Growth Hormone.
Tyrosine has also been shown in studies to reduce the physiological and
behavioral effects of stress - both conditions which are catabolic (muscle
wasting).
TYROSINE AND EPHEDRINE BASED FORMULAS
L-Tyrosine has been shown to increase the effectiveness of the fat loss
stimulant ephedrine. In fact researchers were able to reduce the dose of
ephedrine by about 50% when they added L-Tyrosine to it. L-Tyrosine is the
precursor to noradrenaline in the body. It probably also makes it a little safer
because L-Tyrosine is first converted to dopamine before it is converted to
noradrenaline. Dopamine has a blood pressure lowering effect, whereas
noradrenaline has a blood pressure increasing effect.
HOW TO USE TYROSINE
Tyrosine makes a good pre-workout boost on it's own when taken as a 1gram
dose.
For beneficial effects of enhanced fat loss a dose of around 1 to 2 grams
should be taken around 3 times a day.
