WHAT IS SYNEPHRINE?
Synephrine is a popular alternative to ephedrine or ephedra based
supplements. Synephrine is the main active ingredient found in the fruit of the
plant called citrus aurantium, also known in chinese medicine as zhi shi or
green orange, sour orange and bitter orange in other parts of the world. In
chinese medicine synephrine has been used for a long time to increase Qi, the
energy force, as this substance is a stimulant like ephedra, it may provide
similar metabolic benefits.
Although very similar in structure to ephedrine, synephrine does not appear
to have quite as high an impact on the central nervous system and seem t be
better handled by those strongly affected by ephedrines negative effects.
HOW SHOULD SYNEPHRINE BE USED?
Synephrine can be used, like ephedrine, as a very effective fat burner and
in combination with other ingredients such as caffeine in much the same way.
Citrus Aurantium should be standardized for 3 - 6% synephrine, making an
effective dose of 20mg synephrine from an extract of 340 mg of citrus aurantium
standardised to 6%.
