More About Maca
Maca was known by the Inca's (an ancient and advanced civilisation
based in Peru) to have powerful medicinal properties. It has been used throughout
the Peruvian highlands for the past 5000 years as a high-grade nourishment.
The Incan warriors would actually consume Maca before entering into battle for
an increased source of energy and power. And the messengers who would walk for
huge enormous distanced to deliver messages through the Incan Empire would receive
Maca from the Incan Kings to replenish them and revive them.
Due to the conquest of the South American continent by the Spanish, they too
became familiar with Maca. The local Peruvian population recommended Maca to
the Spaniards to give to their horses, who were becoming weak and infertile
due to the extreme high altitudes of the Peruvian lands. The results made such
a dramatic impression on the Spaniard conquistadors that they reported it in
their annals and aftwerward they also collected their taxes in kilograms of
Maca, which were then transported back to the Spanish mainland.
The Maca plant has also been used extensively for just as long for its unique
qualities in improving memory, stamina, libido as well as decreasing anaemia
and depression. Ultimately though, Maca fell into oblivion in Europe. Only in
the Peruvian Andes did the people continue using Maca.
It was during the 60's and 80's that scientists carried out botanical research
in Peru - a research study that was named 'the lost vegetation of the Andes'.

research in books and on the internet, especially with large focus on this plants
ability to increase energy and sexual performance, has brought Maca back out
