WHAT ARE GUGGULSTERONES?
The Commiphora Mukul ia an herb containing chemicals called guggulsterones.
These chemicals have been shown to increase both thyroid output and
conversion of T4 (the weaker thyroid hormone) into T3 (the stronger thyroid
hormone.) If thyroid levels drop - usually when restricting calories on a diet,
the bodies self defense mechanism to maintain current body weight and conserve
energy, causing further fat loss to become very difficult. Maintaining a high
thyroid output creates a strong thermogenic (fat burning) metabolism.
GUGGULSTERONES AND OUR THYROID
T-3 is the thyroids most powerful hormone. Dieting shuts down it's production
and when this happens you are forced to eat fewer and fewer calories until
you're loosing muscle as well as fat. It is essential to provide your body with
all of it's needs to build and form T3 when restricting calories.
Guggulsterone Z increases thyroid uptake of iodine and stimulates the
production of various thyroid hormones. Guggle also lowers blood lipids, which
further facilitates thyroid function. It even combats acne very similar to
tetracycline.
HOW MUCH SHOULD I USE?
It is a good idea to use this herb along with iodine and L-Tyrosine as these
two substances play a vital role in thyroid metabolism. An effective dose of
gugglesterone has been shown as 200 - 750mg 2 - 3 times a day. Most
guggulsterone supplements are found as combination products along with other
ingredients usually for the sole purpose of fat loss. When looking for a
product, ensure a worthwhile dose is contained and is correctly standarized,
especially for guggulsterone Z.
