AN INTRODUCTION TO HUMAN NUTRITION

Introduction

Mankind has existed and evolved for many thousands of years. Constantly changing and adapting. Adapting to our environment over generations in order to survive and procreate. And through this ever changing, certainty of life, there are a number of elements that remain a constant thread at all times. One of those elements is that at all times through human existence and evolution, we are indeed, kept alive by the nutrition that we consume and turn into energy and repair and build our very cells. Not only are we kept alive by our nutrition, but nutrition affects the quality of our life and our life expectancy. Nutrition affects you and your environment. What your ancestors have eaten has genetically predisposed you to certain adaptations. In many ways the nutrition you consume in your life time will affect your future generations.

The power nutrition has over your life

Nutrition has the ability to affect the human race on a global level. People are generally becoming bigger, taller and fatter and less healthy as a trend. IT not only has this ability but it is, right now, changing the human race in many, many ways. Nutrition can do all of this on a global level. Nutrition also works on a much more direct level. What you consume in foods and drinks literally changes the quality of your very life as a whole. It does this in both dramatic and subtle ways. However, lets face it, there are just some generally unqualified, unreasonable and down right dangerous and useless diets out there that are near pointless and mass-hyped. There are also many, many effective nutritional and dietary plans out there to assist you in achieving the life that you wish.
