Overview
Deal of the Month: Includes an Applied Nutrition NutriWhey, a 4.4kg Critical Mass, plus a Free t-shirt and shaker bottle, all at a fantastic offer price.

The ABC Diet is a relatively old idea, but has proved very popular for hardgainers over the years.

Essentially its based on a little research done on real people, and was performed to see what happens to the body when people change their diets drastically. It wasn't intended for bodybuilding, and the results they got weren't what they expected!

What they did was over feed people for 2 weeks, then underfeed them for 2 weeks.

During the first 2 weeks, people were asked to significantly over eat. Not surprisingly, they gained body weight. What was surprising was that it was mostly in the form of stored muscle glycogen and muscle bulk. In this 2 week period, very little fat was stored.

During the next 2 weeks, these same people were asked to under eat. Again, not surprisingly, they actually lost weight. Again, the surprise came in that most of the weight lost was fat, with very little muscle tissue.

The net effect was that these people gained some muscle tissue and lost body fat, to a measurable, and mathematically significant, level.

The idea behind this kit, is that you use Critical Mass for 2 weeks to ensure you gain weight, and then swap to protein for 2 weeks to ensure you loose weight. The goal will be that over the 4 weeks you gain a little weight, gain muscle tissue and reduce body fat.

We've used this many times with customers to our shops and often had good results. The first cycle works well, the second 4 week cycle works at least as well, and the third cycle is of dubious benefit. Our verdict is to stick to a maximum of 2 cycles, and if you want to try it again, leave it about 12 weeks.
