Question |
Pro-Mass [CNP]: Hey there. I ve been going to the gym roughly for 6 months, but have only just started taking it seriously learning about muscle growth, what workout does what and all the groups etc. Obviously a big part of this is nutrition. I am 16, and 5ft8. I haven t weighed myself for well over a year however, so I won t list my last weigh-in, as it would be completely pointless. For roughly a month now I have been stacking Reflex s Instant Whey, Creatine, L-Glutamine and BCAA s. I have a pretty full breakfast and dinner, and train hard 4-5 times a week. However, I have an EXTREMELY fast metabolism, and whilst I can see myself toning up nicely, I would quite like to bulk up, too. However, given the rate of my metabolism, this seems almost impossible! I ve just ordered another tub of Instant Whey (love the stuff) and was wondering whether it s worth adding CNP Pro-Mass to my stack, as it looks like it may be just what I was after. |
|
Answer |
Hi Mike. First off, congrats for being dedicated at 16. It takes commitment, but stick with it, and you'll be duely rewarded my friend.
Your stack looks good, it has the basics. You're smart to make the transition to the weight gainer, and it may nullify the need to continue using Instant Whey. Instead, pick up a weight gainer and use this as your main source of protein + it's more of a meal replacement, with the additional calories. Pro-mass may work well, another one that gives customers excellent results with fast metabolisms, is Critical Mass by Applied Nutrition - one of our best sellers.
Make sure you're progressively lifting heavier weights to cause a stimulus to change, too. This is paramount.
Good luck with your training, anything else we can help you with let us know. |

Question |
Pro-Mass [CNP]: Hello, i m currently 6 2 and weigh round 11.8 stone, i want to put on as much weight/muscle as on possible, i have about 5 meals a day at the moment, i was just wondering how many shakes would u recommend of this a day + how many grams per shake Also how many grams is in a scoop in this product |
|
Answer |
I'd aim for 6 meals with 2 shakes Ryan. If you're feeling optimistic you can always eat 4 meals - have two-weight gain shakes in between them and use a specific post workout product for after your workout such as After Glow by Biorhythm. You'd probably preserve your weight gainer better this way and save money. Pro-Mass at two / three scoops in each serving twice a day would give you a substantial amount of calories to build muscle, yes. Just ensure you weight train heavily in the lower rep ranges and aim to get stronger. |

Pro-Mass: How would you compare taking Pro-Mass 3 times a day, compared to takin Gaspari Real Mass 2 times a day Which one would you go for, even though Gaspari being more expensive |
|
Answer |
It depends on the ingredients and what your goal is. I'm not aware of what's in Gaspari's product at the moment but Pro-Mass is an excellent tool for gaining weight. |

Question |
Pro-Mass [CNP]: hi, im 18 years old, am 188cm, work oput everyday and weigh 75 kilos, i also take pro mass protein shakes twicke a day. i want to no how calories i need to be consuming, i have heard i need to be eating around 3000 calories a day but at the same time i do not want to put on to much body fat. how many calories would u recomend i should eat a day inorder to avoid body fat but not compramise my ability to put on muscle. |
|
Answer |
Interesting question Jack. Although there are many variables to consider when trying to gain fat and minimize fat gain, it's important to know your individual metabolism and how quickly you can process and absorb certain foods.
My favourite tips for minimizing fat gain whilst "bulking", include;
-Carbohydrate cut-offs at times of inactivity. Basically, remove carbs from your meals and replace them with veggies or fats such as extra virgin olive oil, peanut butter, etc.
-Segregate carbohydrates and fat in meals (basically, either protein/carbs only, or protein/fats only. This will ultimately create an anabolic environment for insulin regulation, and also ensure optimal hormone levels with the protein / fat meals and prevent adipose tissue (fat gain).
-Do cardio on your morning off days. Cardio has several benefits and can still be used effectivwely whilst bulking, providing you're still consuming enough quality calories.
Follow these tips to minimize fat gain, and try to consume upwards of 1.5g to 2grams of protein per lb of bodyweight. Also, Pro-Mass is known to contain relatively fast acting, high G.I carbs in maltodextrin - I think you would be better suited to a product such as Instant Mass by Reflex. |

Question |
Pro-Mass [CNP]: Hey BodyActive, at the minute Ii m 18, 5 ft 10 and 10 stone. I m taking pro-mass only once a day, plus im a vegetarian so im not seeing many results. I m thinking to start taking it 3 times a day 2 ensure i get all the protein + carbs i need. I want size, but i also want to look lean and not bulky or puffy especially not around the stomach. Ive also considered taking pro-mass twice a day, and taking gaspari size-on once a day. however im not sure whether 2 take creatine, as ive heard if i go off it, it will turn 2 fat, and i will lose size due to water retention. Please Give me your advice, Thanks. |
|
Answer |
If you're a vegetarian then you're going to have to rely on getting your protein intake predominantly from shakes, milk and nuts. Unfortunately there will be limited options for gaining mass. You should include one of these in every meal, just as a non-vegan would with a meat product or these. You need a steady and consistent supply of amino acids, so supplementing with additional protein may be beneficial to you. I'd look into something like the 90+ by Nutrisport and consuming that in between meals to increase your intake. At your bodyweight, 150-200grams per day should be enough to force the body into growth. the rest should come from carbs and fats. Add some extra virgin olive oil to shakes, peanut butter etc. Healthy fats to boost the calories.
You can take pro-mass more frequently if you consider it necessary to get the calories up this way, not a problem.
Creatine will not turn to fat. You do get water retention from monohydrate but this is merely an effect of cell volumization and is positive. You will lose water retention when you cycle off but your strength gains will be accelerated and enhanced of this wonderful supplement.
Hope this helps. |

BodyActive's Overview Chemical Nutrition Products have most
definitely earnt their placing in recent years as a market leader, trend setter
and forward thinking innovative nutritional company. With the original teamwork
of business genius Kerry Kayes and his first business partner, the late Paul
Borreson, set the way for the team to progress solidly and steadily along with
multi-Olympian, Dorain Yates, and brain child scientist Brian Batcheldor.
Now CNP are at the top of the nutrition game formulating and
promoting a steady stream of well researched and reputable supplements. As seems
the philosophy of CNP, the sports supplements have always been and will probably always
will be core supplements that actually do work. There are no gimmicks, no flashy
state of the art here today, gone tommorow one hit maybe wonders. The range from
CNP is structured, objective and science driven to the core. Earning their place
as the leader of formulated proteins in recent years, CNP was the first to make
the world aware that not all proteins are created equal and indeed not needed at
the same time of day. In a bodybuilding community obsessed with the purest of
the pure whey proteins, CNP broke the mold, stood out of the crowd and shouted
about Casein. In particular, slow released, undenatured micellar casein. Soon
followed every other company, as the research and results driven focus of CNP
became the true word in the bodybuilding community.
CNP Pro Mass is one of the core best selling supplements from
their range. It is a ppular weight gain supplement based around solid scientific
research. People want a smooth, easily digested, energy packed, mucle building
nutritional tool. That is what CNP have delivered. There is no fat gaining,
poorly digested, nauseaus powder here. Pro Mass was developed with the hard
gainer in mind. They wanted a shake that was ample calories per serving for the
fast metabolism. A shake that was well digested with a blend of fast and slow
digested proteins (undenatured filtrated whey and micellar casein). Proving to
be both anabolic and of course, now, anti-catabolic. The carbohydrates blended
into ProMass being 90% complex carbs, avoiding any massive insulin fluctuations.
And the small amount of added fats that created a rich, palatable and creamy
shake are supplied by quality MCT's that are treated by the body as if they are
energy packed carbs, and not stored as fats by the body. ProMas delivers a
decent 35g of this protein blend and 400 top class scientifically delivered
calories per serving. When you use Pro-Mass you will notice only the best
quality lean tissue gain when combined with a sensible nutrition and exercise
plan. The gains will come on steady and progressively as they should with no
unsightly fat gains, flatulence or stomach upset.
All in all, a fantastic supplement with a fantastic track proven
record that has come to prove itself as a firm favourite amongst sports people
and bodybuilders.

| Manufacturers Description |

It is no
secret that nutrition companies view their weight gain formulas as simply a
cheap way of supplying protein and calories. Lacking in any technology, most are
simply crammed with sugars, saturated fat and indigestible protein. Digestive
disorders, energy crashes, nausea, loss of appetite and increases in bdy fat are
the usual accompaniments. Not bad for a supplement that was supposed to help you
gain muscular bodyweight! Here at CNP we believe that a serious problem needs a
serious solution. We have taken exactly the same scietific approach that we
apply to the development of any of our supplements. We looked at the main reasons
why hard gainers struggle for every ounce of muscle.
* Fast metabolic rate, requiring additional quality calories.
*Using supplements that contain only one source of protein. All the aminos enter
the bloodstream at the same time and most are oxidized for energy or converted
to urea or ammonia.
* Digestive problems, caused by poor quality supplements or those not
suitable for people with sensitive digestion.
* Being in an almost permanent state of catabolism.
Over training, through either calorific defect or unrealistic training
workload leads to muscle loss and needs to be addressed by adjustment of
training, increased calories and the use of anti-catabolic proteins. Whey
protein is not anti-catabolic.
Pro-Mass is the only scientifically structured approach to lean tissue gain.
Nothing is included merely to supply calories. Applying the principles of
"Fast and Slow Proteins", we have blended undenatured, filtrated whey
with undenatured micellar casein, supplying 35 grams of anti-catabolic protein (micellar
casein is the only protein proven to be anti-catabolic). Carbohydrates are
supplied in the form of our unique blend of 63% higher saccharides (complex) and
7% monosaccharides (simple). This is done to avert constant insulin
fluctuatuions (leading to increased bodyfat) and to supply a continuous supply
of energy without "sugar crashes" for those with a fast metabolism.
The small amount of fat present, 4.87 grams per serving, comes in the form of
unsaturated MCT's. Low in lactose and easily digested, every serving supplies
around 400 calories of the best technology that nutritional food science can
address this issue with. This is the new standard by which all weight gain
formulas will be judged. High in "Fast and Slow Proteins"
Anti-catabolic Special Carb Matrix Low in fat (unsaturated) Low in Lactose
