Mohammed, virtually anything, even protein can be converted into body fat if the body is oversupplied with calories and does not have enough training and insulin support to offset this. Glycerine in bars is used for a form of short term energy and is less likely to be stored as body fat than excess sugars, however it is certainly possible that if you have abundant carbs in your diet the glycerine can be stored as body fat much the same as any excess food. The protein in bars is usually less bio available than liquid mixed powder proteins but it is still assimilated by the body and many manufacturers have greatly improved the quality and quantity of protein in their bars. Generally we would recommend bars for snacks and mass gaining diets but due to most having some carb content above that of protein shakes, they are usually best avoided for extreme fat loss diets. |
