Questions and Answers |
| Dave |
Question |
[Reflex] L-Glutamine: Am using whey protien only at the moment and I am planning to start using more things for better gain if they work well with each other. Can you please tell me if using any of the sports supplements in the list below will have a negative effect or cannot be mixed/taken together Reflex L-Glutamine Reflex Creapure Creatine Reflex BCAA and the whey protien. Thank you. |
|
Answer |
They are all fine to be stacked together Dave and many bodybuilders / weightlifters take these supplements individually.
You may need more calories than solely from the whey protein though, so look into Reflex Instant Mass for a more caloric dense solution. Ensure you're training heavy and progressively in the gym too and prepare to grow! |

Question |
Reflex L-Glutamine: Can you mix L-Glutamine with a Casein shake as a good pre-bed shake |
|
Answer |
That sounds like an ideal mix for a slow release muscle sparing meal to use close to bed. Both work well together and enhance the other. If you've had a tough workout or are feeling ill with a cold or something you can add in a handful of BCAAs to improve it further but this isn't essential, just an extra layer of recovery and protection. |

Your Most Important Amino Acid The amino acid, Glutamine, has become
more prominent as new studies reveal its unique contribution to
protein synthesis (muscle growth), anti-proteolytic (prevents muscle
tissue breakdown) functions and growth hormone elevating effects.
Glutamine is the most abundant single amino acid in the blood and in
the intracellular free amino acid pool (most abundant amino acid in
muscle tissue). It comprises 61% of the amino acid pool in skeletal
muscle. Glutamine's unique structure, containing two nitrogen side
chains, consists of 19% nitrogen - making it the primary transporter
of nitrogen into the muscle cell. In fact, glutamine alone is
responsible for 35% of the nitrogen that gets into the muscle cell.
Glutamine literally drives muscle building nitrogen into the muscle
cell where it is synthesized for growth. Glutamine concentrations
fall markedly after training and remain low until complete recovery.
What this means is, the very rigours of weight training leak nitrogen
carrying glutamine from muscle tissue. This fall in glutamine is
catabolic to muscle tissue. Supplementing with glutamine spares free
glutamine in muscle tissue, counteracts the fall in muscle protein
synthesis, and improves nitrogen balance. Suggested use: Take 5 grams
before and after training, and another 5 grams before bedtime for
optimal results.
