Mark	Question	[Reflex] Glucosamine and Chondroitin: I am having joint problems which is mainly in the form of inflamation and hyper-mobile joints this is effecting how much i can push myself in the gym, (also struggling with tennis-elbow) would this be a worth-while supplement to take If so can you take long-term, 3pills a day seems quite alot to take all the time.
	Answer	Glucosamine would appear to be a safe supplement to take long term. Its considered to reach maximum impact in the body within 8 weeks. At the same time it is important that you address the cause of the joint problems. Weight training is usually not harmful to the joints when performed in a slow controlled fashion with heavy weights and low volume training. Fast paced training with sudden changes of diection or bouncing at the end of a rep and high volume training can often cause inflamation.
