Whey Protein Gold Standard: Since my last review I have had the Choc Mint flavour and the Cookies and Cream flavour. Again both taste fantastic, Mint Choc tastes how Mint Choc ice cream does. The only downside is with Cookies and Cream and thats that it foams quite a lot and can take a while to calm down still tastes excellent though. Steve Wilford |

Whey Protein Gold Standard: This is really good stuff, I ve noticed some good gains from this supplement. But coupled with that is the taste, I ve had strawberry and tropical and love them both. Strawberry tastes like a good strawberry milkshake and tropical tastes like sherbert, it is pretty sweet. Both flavours mix really well with minimal foaming, Would highly recommend this stuff. Question |
Optimum Nutrition Whey Protein Gold Standard: Hi, I m currently trying to get rid of some fat and gain some muscle/definition ready for stag doo abroad. I m currently taking inferno 2, which works wonders. I m thinkings of getting a new protein shake and read good things on this product, but will it work properly in conjunction with the inferno 2 Or should I bot be trying to loose weight and build muscle at the same time Cheers |
|
Answer |
Hi Adam,
whey protein is a brilliant way of boosting your metabolism and getting overall protein content up in the diet. It helps retain muscle mass and prolong fat burning to meet your daily requirements so yes, this would work very well in conjunction with the Inferno. |

Question |
Whey Protein Gold Standard: Hi, was thinking of buying your supplement as i have heard it was good. Been out of action for a year and a half from an accident but ready to hit the gym again!!. put on 2 stone during this time of fat.. bad times.. just wondering if this is the best protein mix for me to build muscle and get bigger in size, also going to take sd matrix with milk thistle at the same time, is this a problem thanks |
|
Answer |
Hi Snapper
If your going to supplement with a pro hormone as potent as SD matrix you will need higher amounts of protein and carbohydrates as protein synthesis is increased so dramatically. A pure protein will not provide substantial amounts of calories and carbohydrates to acquire additional muscle size and mass. Have a look at the weight gain section, blends of protein and carbs would be ideal if you want more size. Instant mass is one of the best quality weight gainers around |

Question |
Whey Protein Gold Standard [Optimum Nutrition]: Is it possible to mix this with water or is it best taken with skimmed milk |
|
Answer |
Hi, mixing it with water is advisable as it has originally been filtered from milk / dairy. If you want extra calories, skimmed milk is an option, yes. |

Question |
Whey Protein Gold Standard: I train of a morning and have tried taking EAS s Myoplex but its too thick and heavy on my stomach of a morning and makes me feel sick, i also have this optimum 100 whey which i was thinking of taking with milk for extra calories which i can easily drink and enjoy the taste. Is this o.k to take with milk because the tub recommends taking it with skimmed milk but ive read a lot of bad things about taking protein shakes mixed with milk, what would you suggest |
|
Answer |
Gra, we generally don't recommend mixing protein sports supplements with milk. Milk is a very cheap and low quality food stuff for most people due to the processing which results in a sticky, troublesome carb source.
If a Myoplex is just too much to eat for breakfast you can try using the Optimum whey as a milk replacement over oats or other quality slow release carb source. You can use just a small amount of oats if you want to limit the amount you eat first thing in the morning.
You can blend protein shakes with fruit, berries, small amounts of banana, oats, soya milk or perhaps even a little organic cream if you want a naturally thicker drink thats still thinner than a full myoplex.
The other option is to just use more water in the Myoplex and use only a half serving for breakfast. |
