Promax Extreme by Maximuscle: Just bought Promax Extreme Chocolate, tried with both water and milk, I can hardly drink this stuff, powder smells good but drink tastes horrible, I am forcing myself to drink it because I know I will get results, but the taste is not good. Cristian

Promax Extreme [Maximuscle]: Very expensive - I buy it online here to save a few quid. At Argos and in shop it costs a fortune. I justify it by saying if you re gonna put your body through stress and training to build up, you might as well not be a cheapskate seeing how much effort you re putting in anyway.
Compared to regular Promax this is much better - you can see the results quicker, I suppose that s why you pay for it. I even take a load of this when abroad for the last couple of years. Tried reflex stuff and it just didn t have the same effect. Tastes ok at fiirst, but weeks later makes you feel sick when thinking about taking it, in fact it becomes chore !
Vanilla you can just woof down and bear it in the long term. Mixes well too shuhel

You can., so long as you have adequate calories in your diet. This means ensuring you are getting enough carbohydrates with your protein to gain at least half a kilo a week.
Many people would use Progain Extreme as this contains both protein and carbohydrates, so better suits a mass gaining program.
Nonetheless, by using Promax Extreme along with some carbohydrates, it will make a good meal. You will need to eat or drink 6 meals a day to gain good quality muscle tissue.

Hi Dan,

Promax is a good product as it contains quality protein that can assist towards building lean muscle and fat loss. Good times to take a fast acting whey include post-workout, first thing in the morning, or alternatively you can slow the digestion of the isolates down by taking it alongside a fatty source such as peanut butter in between meals.

Promax Extreme [Maximuscle]: Hi I ve been using promax extreme for some time now taking it as a pre-workout supplement and taking recovermax as a post workout supplement is this the best combination of sports supplements in order to build muscle because I ve been looking combinations of creatamax and cyclone and I m a little bit confused on which sports supplements are best for this goal before and after the exercise. Also I ve read about the anabolic window that is open right after the workout and i want to take the most out of it. Thanks a lot !

Maximuscle do some good sports supplements Nick, but there are a ton of other great one's out there. You sound like you have a good stack. The key really is progressive weight training, consistent nutrition and the right supplementation alongside that. Make sure the first two aspects are achieved, because you have a decent supplement stack as it is. Of course there are alternative syou may wish to try out, which our team would be happy enough to recommend.

Maximuscle Promax Extreme: Hi, im completely new to this and am considering some supplements to up my calorie intake etc. But im unsure what i should be starting with, someone told me to use promax or cyclone, but what is the difference and are these appropriate for an absolute novice. I am 29, 6ft and weigh approx 10 1/2 stone (which goes up/down daily). I have been told that i am a hardgainer. basically, what are the best sports supplements to be using and how often should i try to hit the gym whilst using them. Any help and advice would be gratefully appreciated, thankyou

Hi Dave. Welcome to the training world.

As a newbie, it can often be overwhelming seeing all; the sports supplements we retail and wondering what they all do. I'll simplify this all for you quickly.

To build muscle, you need what is known as a 'calorie surplus' - more calories taken in, than you expend during your daily activity. Weight training is the stimulus to build muscle (it must be progressive in its resistance and allow you adequate rest to recuperate and rebuild) and nutrition is the fuel to support your growth. Powdered forms of protein are simply calories in more convenient form so you don't have to eat as frequently, struggeling. The best option for you right now is the catagory 'weight gainer'. Critical Mass is probably our best selling supplement for hard gainers like yourself - it contains an influx of great proteins, carbs and the right types of fats.

The other product you probably want to look at right now is creatine monohydrate. It regenerates ATP, the body's natural energy source more efficiently so you can achieve more reps / get stronger in the gym - thus resulting in more muscular growth, in theory. Check out Reflex's Creapure.

[Maximuscle] Promax Extreme: hi i used to use cyclone on a regular basis and really did see results but recently (in the past 9 months) i let my self slip stopped goin gym now and lost my six pack and put at least a stone on or so.i am now back to my training regime but been looking at other protein supplements and come across promax extreme would this be better to use then cyclone to build up again and lose the excessive weight thanks ant

Cyclone is an all in one supplement, and one of the best of them at that.
Promax Extreme is a protein powder, so does one of the jobs that Cyclone used to do, but not all of them.
However, for losing bodyfat it may be better. Eat 4 small meals a day, high in protein, moderate in carbs and low in fats. Take 2 protein shakes per day and monitor progress for a month.
