ProMax [Maximuscle]: The flavours are all pretty good to be fair, even the cookies and cream version was tolerable. Been using Promax for about 6 months and basically combined with a good weight traing regime and cardio work it does exactly what it says on the tin! Liam

ProMax: As this is the brand with the most public awareness, it comes as no surprise that this product is very conservatively flavoured. Having used strawberry for many months, I can safely say it is the most pleasant strawberry flavoured protein shake I ve ever r had. It is mild, inoffensive, and has no chemical taste. However, it does not mix well, but the lumpy bits don t taste unpleasant. The worst thing is it costs roughly double many other brands, and you can be sure that the extra half of your cash is goi Ben

If you require to gain a lot of size quickly check out critical mass 2700. Each shake is near 900kcals and provides plenty of protein. Progain is another good quality weight gainer however gaining size is all about quantity. You will need the best quality nutrients to gain good lean muscle size but need the excess amount of calories to gain size, progain has slightly less carbohydrates per serving but as a result has less calories than critical mass.

promax is a pure protein shake and contains just over 100kcal so you would require a lot of shakes to gain any noticeable amount of muscle size

You certainly can.

However, it depends on how much protein you get from food. As a simple rule of thumb, if you weight 180lbs you would need 180g of protein per day. Split into 6 meals, thats 30g per meal.

For a person of 180lbs each meal should have 25-35g of protein, so you can work out for your own bodyweight and general diet, how much powder to use per shake.

ProMax by Maximuscle: I am a swimmer, aged 17 and train around 7 times a week usually for 2 hours. I ve been recommended to take promax as i have injured my shoulder, I usually take my shake around 45 minutes before I train. Is this the right way to take it Also, I will be ordering some more very soon. At the moment I have chocolate flavour, I am not too fusy on this so what flavour would you recommend (I don t like strawberry) Thanks.

Promax for a shoulder injury?. Promax is a protein powder designed to provide amino acids to repair and rebuild muscle tissue. However, by repair, its not meant to treat a muscle tair or strain, but more the repair from exercse.

Strawberry is the most popular flavour followed by chocolate then banana.

You can use promax at any time to supplement your protein intake. You can take a small amount with a meal, a full serving between meals or after training and a small amount 45 minutes before training to boost amino acid levels.

Be aware that too much prior to endurance training can impair performance. 10g is sufficient.

The most important change you might want to consider is the supplements you take during the 2 hours and the supplement you use directly after training.

I take it you are a serious competitive swimmer to do this level of training. Look at the SIS energy products, such as the gels, for during training.

For a post workout supplement, look at energy boost 4 to 1 by nutrisport or Afterglow by Biorhythm. The post workout supplement is critical for you. Most if not just about all top level serious athletes use them.

[Maximuscle] ProMax: Been using this product for quite some time now, occasionaly use creatine in between. I train 3 times a week. I ve noticed massive results, I ve put on about 2 stone in what is mostly muscle. I want to continue getting bigger, the same as most people I would like this to happen as quick as possible. Should I continue to use this product or is there anything else you would recomend in the same price range

Check out maximuscle's progain if you're looking to continue to add mass. Remember, as you get bigger, you need to compensate for this by consuming more calories. Progain would be great for this as it still contains the exclusive blend of promax protein which you're getting great results from.

ProMax: I m in shape doing cardio and going to the gym through the week. However, i want to loose that last half inch of fat around my stomach. I want to know whether i should take promax diet for a short time whilst trying to tone up, or should i continue with a normal protien shake such as promax

It's pretty irrelevant. As long as you're in a calorie surplus (expending more than you consume) and focusing on increasing the stimulus/progression in your weight training, you should lose fat. As long as it fits into your daily requirements it won't matter too much which product you use. I like promax personally as it's a whey isolate, but promax diet does contain added ingredients that may be more desirable for you, especially in regards to fat loss.
