MaxiMuscle ProGain: Chocolate flavour is quite nice, kind of malty. Did give me really bad gas as some other user have said and makes the stomach churn a bit. Saw the serving size on the back and decided that it would be pretty good value, was disapointed when the scoop was so big and 2 kg only lasted about a week lol. have now changed to CNP gainer, much better Euan |

ProGain [MaxiMuscle]: have been using tjis product for 2 days,i am currently 18 to and 11 stone, looking to bulk up quick, i got recomended this product, it tastes good but i have problems keeping it down, i just frow it right up, i have been using 2 scoops with water and add ded creatine, plus taking the progain exrteme before training paddy |

ProGain: Bought one tub and along with proper training began to see results however, it caused such bad stomach pains and wind that my other half banned me from using it and made me sleep in the other room until it was out of my system. Keith H |

ProGain [MaxiMuscle]: didnt realise the scoop was inside the tube was using one spoon full of the supplement lol but the taste is not very nice it tastes ok when you drink it then the after taste is not nice hitmanhovis |

ProGain: Hello, I m a type 1 diabetic and i m currently looking for a few wieght/mass gainers that have a fairly low G.I. How tried Maximusle Progain which did not seem to raise blood sugar too much, but did not gain much at 3 scoops per day. Could you possibly advise on any other weight gainers or all-in-ones that would be suitable. Thanks in advance. Pete |

Instant Mass by Reflex would be an excellent solution as it only contains oats and barley. Being low G.I carbohydrates these would not cause heavy spikes in blood sugar levels and I can atest to the quality in this product from first hand experience.
Other solutions could include Sci-Mentor's weight gainer and MHP's Up your mass, which also do not contain any extremely high G.I carb sources. |

Josh, you're absolutely right to look at a good basic weight gain supplement before anything else. Ideally you should be getting some extra food from proper whole foods and using a good shake supplement in between meals to get in extra quality protein and calories for growth. Progain is a good choice and high quality but if you need a more economical option the Mammoth tubs or Nutrisport Weight Gain may work out better in terms of cash for long term use. [MaxiMuscle] ProGain: Hi. I m wanting to get Progain. I m already using whey protein isolate mixed with oatmeal and milk once a day as well as in water straight after training 3 times a week. Also eating 3 meals on top of this. When would be the best time to use progain along with the isolate. what would be the best time to fit the progain into the equation thanks |

Hi James, it all depends on how much weight you are gaining currently really. Hopefully you should be adding at least a pound a week on the scales. Some of this will be muscle but there will be a little fat and water and glycogen but as long as you are training hard muscle will comprise the majority. If you have stalled in weight gain or feel you are just not gaining fast enough (remember if you gain much more than 3 or 4 pounds a week it's likely to be a lot of fat in there unless you are using pro hormones or steroids) you can add the Progain in. For a lot of hardgainers 6 to 7 meals a day may be more useful than 3 or 4. The Progain would be excellent immediately after training, meaning you would shift the isolate meal around a little. Aim to eat every two to three hours or so to fit this in. Aim for 6 meals on non training days and 7 on training days. Use the isolate later in the day if possible with the progain during the earlier half of the day to ensure minimum fat storage. Most people look at eating three whole food meals such as breakfast, lunch and dinner, with liquid protein or gainer shakes inbetween. For a normal working day for most people this means eating every 2 to 3 hours. Mixing between a whole meal then a shake helps ensure you digest everything rather than staying too full. Start by adding in one Pro Gain shake a day and build up from there as your body adjusts to higher calorie intake. As long as you train heavy you will see a much more rapid muscle gain with very little fat storage. |

ProGain by MaxiMuscle: As someone that needs to bulk up, I started to take Progain but found the wind and stomach cramps and diahorrea intolerable, even just 1 scoop 250ml causes painful wind. Tried cyclone same problem. Is this a beginners thing that the body takes time to adjust to higher protein intake and symptons pass, or does my body tell me in just don t like maximuscle products Thx |

To be honest Pete this is a common complaint for some people with maximuscle products. It certainly doesn t affect everyone but some combinations simply do not agree with people s digestion. We ve certainly found that the CNP and Reflex brands which incl lude digestive enzymes and probiotics often digest better for those who bloat easily. |

Beginner, the Progain Extreme differs primarily with addition of creatine, glutamine and HMB over the basic protein and carbs weight gain formula. Both used 2 to 3 times a day will help all with a fast metabolism kick start serious growth. It s difficult t to say exactly how much more effective the extreme version would be, however most users could expect perhaps 4 to 5 lbs of extra gain in the short term and perhaps a few more in the long run, however both will work when used consistently with training. |
