Kelvin Question

Surge [BioTest]: What is the flavour that I will receive It doesnt seem to be state anywhere..

Answer

Hi Kelvin, the standard flavour is Vanilla.

Olie Question

BioTest Surge: Which do you think will be the best option to run with a pro hormone cylce out of this, afterglow and growth matrix

Answer

Olie they are all great sports supplements. We all have our favourites. My personal choice is Surge but here in the office we have people who use AfterGlow or Growth Matrix. These three are all top of the range products. Surge is slightly more basic but has a higher BCAA content and better digestion and mixability. AfterGlow and Growth Matrix have creatine and other compounds added. Taste is very individual. Surge is generally sweeter, AfterGlow is more fruit based and Growth Matrix varies as it has more flavour options now. All will vastly improve results.

David Question

Surge: Im torn between surge and after glow. I notice there is a fair price difference between the two. In your opinion is after glow worth the extra money and what bonuses does it offer over surge I notice that after glow has Kre-Alkalyn creatine but am not sure what this does can you explain it to me please and would surge and a seperate creatine do the same job Gets confusing all this science stuff! lol Cheers.

Answer

David these two are probably the absolute best of the best. The price difference isn't actually enormous relatively speaking. The Surge comes in at about 16 servings which is the same as the small After Glow tub which is cheaper, while you get 32 servings in the large AfterGlow, so it's more economical. Essentially Surge is more simple, the designers wanted to leave out any extras and just concentrate on the finest proteins, carbs, BCAAs, Glutamine and electrolytes. You can always add other bits to it, but it is straight forward. The After Glow aims to add in a large number of minor extras including kre-alkalyn creatine and anti oxidants etc to make it easier to get all the bits in one formula. In practice some people just prefer one over the other but both are light years ahead of most formulas or basic proteins.

The kre-alkalyn is simply a pH balanced easy digested form of creatine that works for people who have trouble digesting large doses of creatine powder. It can aid recovery, add reps and strength in your workouts and generally shows an intital 4 to 7 lb weight gain within the first few weeks of use as it swells muscle cell volume. If you handle regular creatine monohydrate powder fine you can use a few scoops of that in Surge and it'll work more or less the same. Kre-alkalyn simply means you can use much less and get the same results and you won't see any acidic side effects, cramping, stomach bloat which bothers about 20% of creatine users. We'd mention that generally AfterGlow tends to be in stock more often than Surge simply because Surge is produced in small quantities and is delivered to U.S customers ahead of those of us over here! But whichever you try it's worth it. You'll find the small Afterglow is the cheapest option to try first and if you can afford it, it works out most economical to buy the large Afterglow. The team here at Bodyactive regularly argue over which to use but these two are great.

jak Question

Surge: whats the diff between this and after glow

Answer

Both are excellent post workout recovery drinks. They both contain fast absorbing proteins and carbs which cause an insulin rise which pushes nutrients into muscles and massively improves recovery and growth over a normal protein shake. The Surge is slightly more simplistic than AfterGlow but has a slightly higher form of protein and amounts. AfterGlow contains Kre-Alkalyn creatine which Surge does not. Either product will greatly enhance results but people generally have a mild preference one way or the other.

Manufacturers Description

Biotest Surge Recovery supplement information

Biotest Surge is designed to switch on anabolism and halt catabolism when it's absolutely most important — post workout. The formula stimulates a hormonal (primarily insulin) surge that drives high concentrations of certain nutrients, supplied by the drink, deep into the muscle cell. And if you're successful at achieving this cascade effect, you'll quash catabolism and stimulate anabolism, big time! In fact, it's estimated that you can speed up your body's ability to recover and build muscle by a minimum of one full day, which can make the difference between being the typical hard-gainer and at least a good-gainer.

In reality, there're probably very few true hard-gainers. In fact, if you took everyone who's having a hard time making progress and just got them to consume ample amounts of the right mix of nutrients post workout, the vast majority would make consistent, continual muscle-mass gains. Really, it's that simple — and that hard. The hard part of effective post-workout nutrition is determining the right blend of nutrients in the ideal ratios. Well, we've done the research and testing, taking the guesswork out of the equation.

New Post-Workout Formula: Biotest Surge Recovery

First of all, Biotest Surge Recovery tastes great, which is no easy feat to accomplish, considering the ingredients. Without a major mojo job on the flavoring, the mixture — primarily whey-protein hydrolysate and BCCAs — is so bitter and nasty you'd swear it was something intended for cleaning the bathroom. Yuck!

However, the great taste isn't the big payoff. Far more important is the hormonal (primarily insulin) surge you get right after you drink the formula. As a result of this surge, high concentrations of certain nutrients, supplied by the drink, are driven deep into the muscle cell right when it's absolutely most important — post workout.

And if you're successful at achieving this cascade effect, you'll quash catabolism and stimulate anabolism, big time! In fact, we believe you'll speed up your body's ability to recover and build muscle by a minimum of one full day, which can make the difference between being the typical hard-gainer and at least a good-gainer.

In reality, there're probably very few true hard-gainers running around.

Yes, we've talked at length about most of the ingredients that comprise our post-workout formula, but we've never revealed the exact ratios between the compounds and which ones were the real keys to making the drink effective.

Well, we're not stupid (most of the time, anyway). This formula may be one of the most powerful supplements to ever hit the market. We know that, and our competitors know it. Accordingly, we want to protect our investment in the formula, plus we need to be compensated for our efforts.

After all, fair is fair. We paid the R-and-D price, and we had the ingenuity and know-how to successfully accomplish the goal. It wasn't easy, either. If simply throwing some glucose, maltodextrin, whey-protein hydrolysate, and BCCAs into a few ounces of water was effective, we wouldn't have made the formula.

But that wasn't the case at all. To make the drink produce the anabolic/anti-catabolic effects we were after, we had to spend a lot of time in the lab testing our theories. And I'm here to tell you it's tough to make this stuff and get everything right. We did with Biotest Surge Recovery.

Anyway, Biotest Surge is one of those supplements that actually works a whole bunch better than you could ever hope for. The people who've tried our formula have all had the same experiences. More specifically, they saw dramatic increases in recovery ability, which translated into newfound muscle-mass gains.

In essence, you could say that Biotest Surge turns on the muscle gaining, hyper-drive switch.

"Awfully strong statement, Timmy boy." Yeah, I know. But never the less, it's true when you're talking about Biotest Surge Recovery.

John Berardi, TC, and I promise that you won't be disappointed. In fact, we guarantee you won't. If Biotest Surge doesn't meet or even beat your expectations, no biggie, you can get all your money back. How's that for confidence in the post-workout formula!?
