Hormones -
little tiny chemical messengers that tell your body to do things. Great arent
they! And you have some pretty good anabolic ones in that body of yours - the
ones that tell you to build masses and oodles of rock solid muscle! Thats what
we're talking about here. Now your body has a lot of different
ways to cope with different stresses - secreting different hormones to regulate the
body when under certain conditions. We all know that anyway right - I mean have
you ever wondered why bodybuilders drink so
much water, or decide to sodium load before competitions? It is a natural way to
make you body get rid of excess water. Its a chemical reaction that is brought
about by something you do to control a hormonal reaction! Whats that?! If you
were listening and reading properly you now know that you can CONTROL your own
ananbolic hormones...and one of the most anabolic hormones is of course - HUMAN
GROWTH HORMONE! yay! Your body has it's own growth hormone gland - the
anterior pituartory gland...and thats not something you buy off Big Mike that he
carries around in his gym bag for the competing athletes at your gym people!
So what exactly does
your GH (growth hormone) actualy do for you. Why are we so excited about it?
Well you should be excited. HGH can do the following for you:-
Promotes muscle growth
Makes use of stored fat
Protein production
Decreases your use for
carbohydrates for energy.
So how cool is that? A hormones
that builds muscle and burns fat...perfect for ketogenic dieting too as you use
less carbs for energy! so how do we get more of this wonderful anabolic fun
filled hormone? I hear you scream. have a look at the following list of weekend
activities for you.
List of rules to stimulate
more growth hormone naturally
- Eat low glycemic carbohydrates
before training for example pastas, oatmeal, etc.
- Go to bed on an empty stomach
(no heavy carbs). Carbohydrates produce insulin, which can help store fat.
Your body will only produce one at a time.
- Training in short, intense
workouts 2-3 times a day.
- Wear warm clothing.
- Getting enough deep sleep. It
is produced in the first hour or so.
- Using certain aminos
throughout the day. Ornithine, arginine.
- Eating a balanced diet. Carbs/protein/fat.
- Eating 5-7 times a day.
- Using the sauna 20 minutes a
day.
- Training using powerful lifts
for example squats, dead lifts and power cleans.
- Take naps frequently
throughout the day..
- Avoid doing the same exercise
every time you go into the gym. This produces more HGH response.
I read that list once somewhere
and tried it. It works. I sleep at least ten hours. I nap two to three times a
day for about half an hour each time. I take arginine and ornithine. I drink
whey protein. I train two times a day for thirty minutes. I mix my exercises
around. I always include the big ones for twenty. Twenty rep squats. Twenty rep
deadlifts etc. This is the key to it I think....oh and I eat shit loads. :) Lots
and lots of well balanced food throughout the day but restrict carbs after
seven.
I think if you have a go at this
little recipe for high GH levels you'll love the extra benefits to your training
that will come. Have fun!
